Under Federal Statute, a buyer is allowed to freely choose the title insurance provider, and the real estate agent or loan officer may not dictate which company that will be. However, it is not uncommon for one of these parties to attempt to steer business to a "captive" title insurance agency in order to receive some type of financial reward.

Peter J. Huston, President

Peter J. Huston has twelve years of experience in the title insurance industry. He started as a title examiner and has worked in title agencies as a settlement specialist and closing supervisor.

Later in his career, he worked for various national title underwriters as an area representative, state sales manager and eventually a Regional Vice President running 12 states.

Peter's educational background includes a BA from Penn State University and MBA from Duquesne University. He is also a U.S. Army veteran.
